Ok, having got all the house moves, holidays and everything else more or less sorted its time to sort this out.
The plan is to make the Highlander a bit more of an event this year so watch this space.
However, the initial idea of making it a tour with multi hotels is not going to happen. This turns out to be a logistical nightmare and its almost impossible to accommodate our numbers in the places we'd need to stay.
So the idea is to base ourselves at Nethybridge and offer optional routes for the Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Longer, faster, easier, more challenging, shorter routes will be available so everyone can do their own thing at their own pace. (Applecross will feature,Terry!)
Also I'm planning, for those who'd like to, that we will leave from Stirling on Friday morning and take the scenic route north. Alternatively just meet us on Friday evening at the hotel. (If you wish to stay in or near Stirling Thursday night I'll speak to the Royal Hotel in Bridge of Allan to secure a block booking once I know rough numbers). There will also be a lunch run on the Monday for all those travelling south but not in a great rush to get home.
So you choose whether your highlander is a two, three or four day event.
************************The dates are Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May***************************
I need feedback and input on this format and I'd like any suggestions of routes, points of interest etc. we do have a catalogue of routes as we've been here many a time.
Also an early indication of numbers would be useful.
They are always good but lets make it one to remember.
